My goals for 2021

My goals for 2021

I honestly can’t believe I’m writing 2021 on a blog post. I know I say this every year, but where the heck has the time gone? Even with a lockdown, this year (despite not being the best one) has just flown by.

In this last year I have definitely become a much more humble and grateful person. I realise that just little things like taking a walk or meeting friends is something i took for granted.

After such a long lockdown and not having as much freedom as usual, I’ve set myself a few goals for 2021 and thought I’d share them with you:

-Learn to spend more time on my own and learn to love my own company for longer without feeling lonely. I want to try and find more things that I enjoy doing on my own so that I have less time to miss people or wish I was with them.

-To put my mental health first. I know this is a big one and will be on lots of peoples lists because it’s so key. I always end up forgiving people and allowing people into my life who don’t deserve to be there and it just isn’t worth the upset or stress. In life you have to surround yourself with the people you trust and who has your best priorities in mind. If you don’t it can affect your mental health more than you think and will drain you so quickly! I’d honestly have no friends than rubbish ones. I’m also going to try and get less stressed out about little things I can’t control or things which; in the grand scheme of things, don’t matter. Life’s too short for feeling depressed and anxious all the time.

-To self-develop. I must admit, last year I binge watched a tonne of TV and because the gyms were closed, and for a big chunk of time I got lazy with working out and healthy eating. This year I’m determined to look after myself more and also to use free time to develop myself and learn something new. I’m thinking of reading more, trying to practise my Spanish again and to exercise regularly. I’m hoping this will make me feel better in myself and to feel much healthier.

-To travel more! After having zero trips in 2020 I’m determined to have at least one holiday this year even if it’s in the UK. Being on lockdown made me realise just how much I love to travel and explore, so I can’t wait for it to be safer so I can visit somewhere new

Usually I pick a few more resolutions/goals for the new year but this time I want to have fewer yet more challenging ones. These were the most important to me.

What are your goals for the new year? Are they similar to mine?

Don’t hesitate to get in touch

As always, thanks for reading
