New year, IMPROVED me!!

New year, new improved me!

Happy January guys, and a very happy new year to you all. How on earth is it 2020 already?! It’s actually insane how quickly the time passes, which is why its just so important for us to make the most of what we have and make our lives a memorable one. Yess,…I know that’s easier said than done, but every little helps.

I was thinking about how practically every January edition of magazine always pipes up saying it’s time to be a NEW you which almost makes people feel like they need to completely change. They end up setting themselves too many resolutions and end up not achieving them all because they’ve burned out! I feel like the headline should read New year, improved me because let’s face it we are who we are. We can’t just completely change ourselves, but what we CAN do is make improvements to our lives so that we can be more of the person that we actually WANT to be. We put too much pressure on ourselves which is such a shame.

As we approached January I decided to think about some of the goals/aspirations and improvements that I wanted to achieve throughout 2020 and as always, I wanted to share those with you:

Make more effort with social media

This is such a big one for me. I began my journey blogging and instgramming around the end of March 2018 and I’ve been regularly posting pictures, videos and blog posts. This year, I want to create more content and also better content by really working hard and investing in my tech. I’ve already bought myself a ring light which really helps when filming my YT videos as the flat doesn’t get too much natural sunlight. Watch this space for more content….

Continue to be financial savvy

I’m pretty good with managing my finances, and as you all know it’s my dream to own my own house one day so I want to continue working hard to save toward a house and try to manage my money well; yet also striking a healthy balance between saving and actually enjoying the money that I work hard for every week.

Make more memories

I mentioned before that time goes too quickly, so this one is all about having fun and enjoying myself. I want to try and continue to travel which is my ultimate hobby, but also organise events with friends like movie nights and board game nights. 

Work on my body

I think this is a really popular goal, especially since it’s almost a fashion to be fit and healthy these days. I really want to improve my gym habits by trying to go more regularly and trying to gain some weight through muscle. Being motivated to workout doesn’t come naturally to me so this is going to be quite a challenge, but I’m hoping I’ll feel healthier and happier in the long run. Anyone want a gym buddy?

Get some culinary skills

Last year I made quite an effort to try new recipes and I felt really good about it because I was learning something new and I wasn’t eating the same meals week in week out. Food is life in my opinion so keeping it fun and mixing up meal plans is essential. Stay tuned on my insta stories to see what recipes I try!
