Quiz summer haul Aug 18

Quiz summer haul Aug 18

Hey guys, so for those of you who saw on my Instagram, Pinterest and Youtube, I recently treated myself to a quiz haul (my excuse is that I am seriously lacking summer clothes at the minute)-I know what you’re thinking…any excuse!

So, I had a cheeky browse round Debenhams. Although they have nowhere near as many items as the actual quiz shop and they don’t stock quiz shoes instore, they still had a really large section.

I absolutely love quiz, especially for buying fascinators for race day, but I have to be careful. I can’t usually buy trousers/jumpsuits (unless they are a cropped leg) as they don’t have a petite section and the trousers just drown me!

I wanted to experiment and I also saw they had a sale rail-so of course I was going to look.

In total I got around 8 outfits worth of clothes and all under £200.

The first item was a really cute lilac skort in size 6. It cost me £12.99 in the sale and I just love it. I have a think with skorts (bought one in my last new look haul here’s the link: https://youtu.be/5svHESsIOYA)

This is just fantastic for on holiday because it’s just so fun and girly. You don’t have to feel conscious of bending over because it’s shorts. The colour is beautiful and I paired it with a cream tie back crop top which cost me £16.99.  The material on both pieces were a decent enough quality and didn’t feel too loose or too tight which is fab. I didn’t wear a bra with the top simply because of the back and the material was thick enough that you can get away with it.

I also got a pair of amazing high waisted green shorts in a size 6 for £22.99 full price. I don’t usually pick green but it would be fantastic for summer. The thing which drew me to the shorts was the beautiful gold buckle in the center. I just wore them with some nude patent heels as I didn’t want to have too many colours.

The material didn’t show my knicker line and they were just really nice and comfy.

I picked 2 items to go together a snake print top £15.99 and a gorgeous rust coloured skort (yes another skort!). It  wouldn’t be my usual pick but the snake print top had a hint of orange that I thought would go really well with the skort.

This skort was by far my favourite item in the haul, and I particularly loved the tie round front.

It did feel so ticht getting it up my thighs and I’m not sure why because I have the flattest butt ever and skinny legs, but once it was on it fit absolutely fine. The little frill round the front was so girly and it felt really nice and light.

I liked the snake print top but I didn’t like the bandage coloured straps (but they did have an adjuster on if you do like to keep the straps), and I just tucked in the straps so that it was like a bube tube.

I paired this outfit with some brown wedges as I thought I’d had enough colour and details, plus the brown and cork kept it nice and earthy. I felt so fierce and its definitely something that is perfect for on holiday.

I got another yellow dress, wich is similar to the last quiz jumpsuit I bought, however the dress was a thicker material, and slightly different print. It was so floral with lots of blues and greens and had a beautiful frill on the front and back, as well as the hem.

This was in the sale at £17.99 and I wore it with my quiz fascinator from last year to York races with some strappy heels.

The dress was a size 6 and fit perfectly, it wasn’t too tight, my knicker line didn’t show, there was just enough cleavage to feel sexy yet sophisticated, and the colour yellow actually grew on me. This dress would be so cute to wear with a flower in your hair and particularly if you get a little bit of a tan/glow on holiday.

It came above my knees but for me this was the perfect length despite being 5”3 and you could definitely meet your in laws wearing this.

Another dress was a cream and coral floral dress. I know more floral prints! I didn’t use to like floral but I’m really digging it this summer. It cost me just £14.99 in the sale, however this one was in a size 8 not a 6 as this was the only size abailable.

The material felt a good quality and I loved how it was contouring my body in the right places. Strapless dresses like this look so beautiful, and you could wear this dress to any special occasion. Again came down to just above my knees and worn with my peep toe lace stilettos.

The coral/red flowers just looked so pretty and I got a tonne of compliments when wearing it. The fact it was in the sale is even better!

Playsuits are a must have this summer and I landed another bargain at just £12.99. This is a blue and baby pink floral playsuit with a cross back and spaghetti straps. It felt so light and thin so definitely holiday appropriate, however the back felt a bit big and you couldn’t adjust it. The frills round the shorts really finished it and I just paired it with my flower flip flop sandals.

This colour blue is one of my favourites as it looks good on every skin tone, and the playsuit was just so fun and easy to wear. Almost like I wasn’t wearing anything

The other 2 items were coord items in my favourite colour…red. It’s a crop top bought in a size 6 for £19.99 and a pair of matching trousers for £22.99. It’s quite exoensive but I just couldn’t get one without the other. I wouldn’t usually pick this but the white polka dots were just so tempting.

Unfortunately they only had the trousers in a size 8 but they actually fit, and the tie belt definitely helped.

The crop top showed some cleavage at the front and had a lovely open back and flared sleeves.

Just like the jumpsuit, the material was very thin and perfect for hot weather. I just shoved some cute flat sandals with it.

In the shop it was also 2-4-1 on all jewelry which was so tempting, but I refrained. They also have some excellent bodysuits, which look really nice to wear with some wide leg trousers.

I’d love to hear which of these items you liked best?

Hope you enjoyed this post and stay tuned for more!

love
